If you teach, run a school, work in a district office, or study any of it, reach out. We set aside a budget for pro bono research for educators, and we are happy to try to accommodate what you need.
Pro bono, by design
Teachers, principals, district staff, school librarians, union locals, education researchers, and graduate students all qualify. We keep a budget aside for this work. When requests outrun it, we take them in order and tell you where you stand rather than quietly dropping yours. Your school or university email is all you need.
What you can ask for

We hold more than the site shows. If the cut you need isn't a page here, describe it and we'll see what we can do.
Common requests
- Your own boardWho serves, which seats are up, and what the next election looks like.
- Board composition across a set of districtsEvery roster in a county, a region, or a peer group you define.
- Turnover and contested-race ratesHow often seats change hands, and where races go uncontested.
- A slice for a paper or a classExported as CSV with the source column intact, so it is citable.
How we handle it
- We respond promptlyEven if the answer is that we can't take it on yet.
- We tell you what we don't haveCoverage is uneven by state and we would rather say so than pad a file.
- Every row keeps its sourceYou can cite it, and your reviewers can check it.
- No email lists, everWe never publish the contact details we hold, for anyone.
